The Bernese Design Foundation promotes, communicates and collects. With its wide range of activities and offers in the field of design, the foundation is a unique institution in Switzerland. Twice a year, it awards grants to professional designers from the Canton of Bern and showcases their projects in its annual BESTFORM exhibition. Through this exhibition, studio visits and other events, as well. It also maintains and expands the cantonal collection of applied art, which dates back over 150 years.

The Museum des Landes Glarus, which has existed since 1946, is dedicated to various aspects of the history and culture of the canton of Glarus, in permanent and temporary exhibitions.

Therma Schaulager

The Therma Schaulager exhibition hall, built in 1932 in the former Therma enamel factory, displays a cross-section of 300 selected Therma brand electrical household appliances from the period between 1907 and 1978.

The exhibition provides an insight into Therma's wide range of products and thus into the electrification of households in the 20th century. It conveys an important piece of Swiss technological, design, graphic, economic, and social history. The product groups on display include: cookers and rechauds, water, tea, and coffee makers, heating stoves, heating pads, travel appliances, refrigerators, irons, toasters, and much more.
